How to Create a Part
Section titled “How to Create a Part”Creating a Part in UniCMMS registers a new consumable item, spare component, or material into your master inventory database.
Step 1 – Open the Parts Directory
Section titled “Step 1 – Open the Parts Directory”- From the main sidebar, expand Parts & Supplies.
- Click List to open the Parts directory.
- Click the black + Create button in the top‑right corner.
This opens the Create Part form.
Step 2 – Define Core Part Parameters
Section titled “Step 2 – Define Core Part Parameters”Complete the form fields to define the identity and tracking rules for the part.

| Part Number | Enter the manufacturer’s ordering or identification number. | No |
| Part Class | Assign an inventory class (e.g. A / B / C) based on value or criticality. | No |
| Minimum / Maximum Level | Enter stock thresholds that define Low Stock / Overstocked alerts. | No |
| Types | Categorize the part (e.g. Electrical, Plumbing, Lubricants). | No |
| Teams in charge | Assign the maintenance team responsible for managing this stock. | No |
| Description | Add vendor details, storage instructions, and any operational notes. | No |
tip: Use clear, searchable names Combine the equipment type + function + key spec (e.g.
Air Filter – Compressor – 10µm) so technicians can find the part quickly.
Step 3 – Save the Record
Section titled “Step 3 – Save the Record”- Review all fields for accuracy, especially Name, Consumption Unit, and thresholds.
- Click Submit at the bottom‑right.
The part is now added to your master inventory. It can be:
- Linked to Inventory records in specific facilities.
- Consumed on Work Orders.
- Included in Sets and used in Cycle Counts.
