About Purchase Requests
Section titled “About Purchase Requests”The Purchase Requests module is the internal starting point of the procurement lifecycle. Staff (for example technicians or warehouse keepers) use it to formally request materials or assets needed for maintenance.
Unlike Businesses, which is a global directory shared everywhere, a purchase request is usually raised in site context so needed-by dates and quantities reflect local operations.
Creating or editing a PR uses a dialog with General fields (name, priority, optional needed-by date and description) and a Products grid for line items—see How to create a purchase request for field-level detail and screenshots.
From request to order (at a glance)
Section titled “From request to order (at a glance)”- Internal approval — After submit, a PR typically moves to Pending (or similar). An authorized user must review it before it can feed an RFQ or PO—see How to approve or decline a purchase request.
- Traceability — Each product line is tracked. If the line targets an asset, the system can keep a link for total cost of ownership (TCO) and reporting.
- Site isolation — Requests are managed per site so deadlines and quantities match what that location actually needs.
