Maintenance Types classify the nature of work recorded on Work Orders (for example Safety, Emergency, Inspection, or Upgrade). These categories directly support planned vs. unplanned analysis, reliability trends, and maintenance performance KPIs.

  1. Open Admin PortalSettingsReference Data.
  2. Find Maintenance Types and click +.
  3. Complete the form:

  1. Click Submit.
  1. More (⋯)Edit.
  2. Update Name or Override Name.
  3. Click Update.
  1. More (⋯)Delete.
  2. Safeguard: Deletion is blocked if the type is linked to any active or historical work order.

After creating, editing, or deleting a maintenance type:

  1. Confirm the Maintenance Types table shows the updated records.
  2. Verify naming consistency and remove near-duplicate categories.
  3. Open a Work Order form and confirm the updated maintenance type options are selectable.
