Metric Units define measurement units used across inventory, purchasing, and meter tracking. A standardized unit catalog prevents duplicate entries (for example kg vs Kg) and improves accuracy in consumption and measurement reports.

  1. Open Admin PortalSettingsReference Data.
  2. Find Metric Units and click +.
  3. Complete the form:

* Validation: At least one of For Consumption or For Measurement must be enabled.

  1. Click Submit.
  1. More (⋯)Edit.
  2. Update labels or usage toggles.
  3. Click Update.
  1. More (⋯)Delete.
  2. Safeguard: Deletion is blocked if the unit is linked to any part, asset meter, or historical record.

After creating, editing, or deleting a metric unit:

  1. Confirm the Metric Units table shows the expected updates.
  2. Verify toggle flags (For Consumption, For Measurement) are set correctly.
  3. Open related forms (part usage, purchasing, meter entry) and confirm unit options reflect your changes.
