Warranty Types

Section titled “About Warranty Types”Warranty Types define standard warranty coverage categories for assets and parts, such as full, limited, or extended warranty. Consistent labels help maintenance and procurement teams quickly identify what costs may be recoverable from vendors.

How to manage Warranty Types
Section titled “How to manage Warranty Types”Add a new warranty type
Section titled “Add a new warranty type”- Open Admin Portal → Settings → Reference Data.
- Find Warranty Types and click +.
- Complete the form:

| Override Name | Translated label. | No |
- Click Submit.
Update an existing warranty type
Section titled “Update an existing warranty type”- More (⋯) → Edit.
- Update Name or Override Name.
- Click Update.
Delete a warranty type
Section titled “Delete a warranty type”- More (⋯) → Delete.
- Safeguard: Deletion is blocked while the type is assigned to any asset or part. Update associations first.
Verification after changes
Section titled “Verification after changes”After creating, editing, or deleting a warranty type:
- Confirm the Warranty Types table reflects your latest update.
- Verify naming consistency and remove duplicate coverage labels.
- Open an asset or part form and confirm updated warranty type options are selectable.
